Lori Marino and the Kimmela Project, Calvin Sandborn from the Environmental Law Centre

Lori Marino is founder and executive director of the Kimmela Centre for Animal Advocacy. She’s a neuroscientist and an expert in animal behaviour and intelligence, internationally known for her work on the evolution of the brain and intelligence in dolphins and whales.  Dr. Marino speaks with us about a symposium she recently attended, “I am Not an Animal,” and the “Someone Project.”

The Environmental Law Centre, housed at the University of Victoria, envisions a British Columbia where local communities, environmental groups, and First Nations have the legal tools and resources to advocate effectively for the restoration, conservation, and protection of this province’s unique and diverse environment.  Calvin Sandborn is its legal director, and shares some information about the organization and their work.
