Dr Richard Oppenlander and “Comfortably Unaware,” RD Vesanto Melina and the Canada Food Guide

Dr. Richard Oppenlander is an author, speaker, consultant, and advisor to U.S. Municipalities and to World Hunger Projects that are designing programs using his model of multi-dimensional sustainability.  He’s the recipient of the 2014 International Book Award and the Green Book Festival Award, his published works include Food Choice and Sustainability, and Comfortably Unaware.  Richard tells us about “global depletion” which is a much bigger concern than just climate change, and how we can all empower ourselves to live the best life possible ourselves, and for the entire planet.

Vesanto Melina is a Registered Dietician, co-author of multiple award winning books titled Becoming Vegan: Comprehensive Edition and Becoming Vegan: Express Edition, both created with Brenda Davis who is also a Registered Dietician living in British Columbia.  Vesanto also writes a monthly column in Vancouver’s Common Ground magazine.  We talk about Health Canada’s recent announcement that they’re upgrading the Canada Food Guide, and interested in public input.
And, Chris Cook with a “What in the World” update.
