Mt Polley Mine Disaster w/Jacinda Mack, Healthy Dietary Planning w/Sharon Palmer, a WITW update with Chris Cook

Jacinda Mack was the Natural Resources Manager for the Xat’sull peoples when the Mt. Polley tailings pond failed,  releasing 10 million cubic meters of water and 4.5 million cubic metres of toxic waste into Polley Lake and connecting waterways.  She’s now involved with the First Nations Women Advocating Responsible Mining Group.  Two years after Imperial Metals’ Dam broke, with a BC Provincial Government (that Imperial Metals financially supports) insisting that industrial development is the only feasible economic future, what legislative oversight (if any) have they put into place to prevent future disasters?  And, Sharon Palmer talks about her blog entry “Vegans at Risk for Nutritional Deficiency,” explaining why we need Omega 3 fatty acids, B12, calcium, vitamin d, iron, zinc, and iodine, and which are the best plant based sources to support a healthy plant based lifestyle.  Plus, Chris Cook with a “What in the World” update.
