Understanding the Autism Spectrum with Katherine Paxton, for Winds of Change July 16 2015

Katherine Paxton is a Canadian Certified Counsellor who has been practicing her art for over 25 years.  Her current practice involves working with adults and children whose diagnosis places them on the autism spectrum.  She also works with their families, partners/spouses, children, and/or employers.  Her first book, Counselling People on the Autism Spectrum: A Practical Manual, received a Counselling Book Award from the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.  In this interview, recorded at CFUV (but unfortunately not downloaded in its entirety), I speak with Katherine about autism: what is it, how can we recognize it, what are some of the challenges it offers, and how can we support individuals on the spectrum to become functional and contributing members of the larger society.
