Richard Wright from Madii Lii, Veganites at first annual Veaster – for WOC April 9 2015

Richard Wright is the Luuutkudziiwus Spokesperson on behalf of the Grassroots Land Defenders currently established on Madii Lii Territory (within the Gitxsan Nation) in what’s known as Northern British Columbia.  Their intention is to stop the further colonization of their lands and people by preventing a TransCanada pipeline from crossing their territory.  Richard tells us why this is so important, what their plans are for eco-tourism in the area, and how we can all get involved.  Then, a series of short interviews with participants at the first annual “Veaster” (Vegan Easter) potluck in Victoria sharing their reasons why they believe so strongly in promoting and living a compassionate and cruelty-free lifestyle.

UPDATE:  There will be a Madii Lii Fundraiser with gluten free and vegan tacos, kombucha, and lemonade on Saturday, April 18th from 10 am – 3 pm hosted by the Dessert Collective, at 1016 North Park (on unceded Lekwungen Territories).
