Winds of Change: Darwyn Coxson and Inland Temperate Rainforests, MLA David Eby, Victoria City Councillor Shellie Gudgeon and the GVHA

The Ancient Forest Trail near Prince George is part of a unique inland temperate rainforest.  It’s offering ecotourism opportunities for the city, and a wealth of biodiversity research opportunities for local scientists.  Dr. Darwyn Coxson is currently in the process of registering the region as a UN Heritage Site, and today he took time from his busy schedule to speak about the forest and why we should care to protect it.  Then, Victoria City Councillor Shellie Gudgeon talks about what’s going on with the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority (whose board she was appointed and accepted to, after a public struggle against the GVHA resistance) and efforts to save precious public land for public use.  (Click here to read minutes regarding the proposed Harbour Air Terminal she mentioned).  With a segment from Coop Radio’s Media Mornings, with host Derrick O’Keefe interviewing newly elected MLA David Eby, who was elected in Christie Clark’s (and Gordon Campbell’s) Point Grey riding in Vancouver.
