Peace, Cooperatives, and Sustainability: Ian MacPherson at Victoria Community Health Coop AGM

The Victoria Community Health Cooperative (VCHC) is a community founded, owned and governed health care organization offering integrative medicine education and services based on the needs of our members.  It is the first health co-operative in Victoria, and the first integrative primary health care co-op in BC.  VCHC is currently offering several community-based initiatives and has one Co-operative Community Health Centre (the CCHC) where they provide publicly funded medical services (family doctors); health and wellness education programs; and allied integrative health services on a fee for service basis. These services include mental health counseling, cranio-sacral therapy, homeopathy, acupuncture, naturopathy, energy work, and nutrition counseling.  VCHC is a collaboration of diverse community members from all over Victoria interested in having greater control and say in their health care through co-operation and member participation in our co-op.  On February 23rd they organized a Co-op Day in Victoria and invited  Ian MacPherson, an internationally recognized authority on all things cooperative who was later elected to the board, to deliver the keynote address:
