Winds of Change Aug 30 2012: Eric Nordal and, Historian and City Councillor Ben Isitt, CFUV Broadcaster Chris Cook

Eric Nordal founded last year with the intention of creating a central hub for the very active activists, working for social justice, environmental health, and peace, in various Victoria communities.  Eric talks about some of the social coast campaigns, including his recent journey north to the Unis’tot’en Action Camp where dedicated activists are preparing to confront and stop any pipeline development in the region.  Then, an update from Chris Cook regarding new efforts by the RCMP to exercise power and control, aka “serve and protect” themselves.  And City Councillor/Historian Ben Isitt talks about creative budget balancing, creating street safety in communities, the potential fate of publicly owned city lands, and his ideas about how to reconcile our colonialist, with our indigenous past.
