Winds of Change : Mike Thomas and what it’s like to work in the Tarsands

In solidarity with No Tarsands Pipeline activists in Washington DC, at upload time numbering in the thousands with over 800 arrested for peacefully demonstrating outside the Whitehouse, we spend an hour speaking with Mike Thomas in Edmonton Alberta.  Mike was working in the tarsands, until he was fired for daring to report, on his blog, about the deplorable working conditions in Northern Alberta.  Mike speaks about labour and living conditions in the tarsands, about corporate control, about government complicity in turning Canada into a third world nation, about alternative fuel and lifestyle choices, and about his own successes keeping his ADHD under control using natural substances.
