Winds of Change – June 9 2011 – to census or not to census, supporting the posties, a street level view of Victoria

Since learning of Lockheed Martin’s involvement in Canada’s Census, Don Rogers and friends have launched CountMeOut.ca.  They offer information about the ways vital and personal data from Canadians to one of the largest arms manufacturers in the world might be mis-used or hacked, and provide research on ways to opt out of this questionably motivated information gathering process.  Then, 7 minutes from Jim Sinclair who, representing the BC Federation of Labour, was in Victoria this week speaking about CUPW‘s rotating federal strike as they attempt to maintain fair labour standards and fend off the continued privatization of our public national resource – the Canadian Postal Service.  Finally, Kym Hothead offers a view from the streets of Victoria-what’s working, who to thank, what’s not working, how to get involved, and more.
