labour unions, activism, surviving the future

Labour unions, in the USA and Canada, are challenged with neo-conservative agendas that seek to dismantle them altogether.  As the saying goes, if you enjoy the weekend thank a labour unionist.  If not for worker’s rights we’d all be working longer hours, for less pay, in more dangerous working conditions.  Gene McGuckin has been working with and for unions for decades, and brings us up to date with the situation in Wisconsin and how it might affect all unions across the USA and Canada.  In the second half, New York City’s Mickey Z talks about his new book, Darker Shade of Green. We discuss the wisdom often found among those who have rejected or been forced out of the dominant culture, the innocence and imagination of youth, veganism, our shared concern for this beautiful earth and how we might all work for and contribute to significant change.
