Native History of Jericho Beach Park, formerly a Musqueam Village site

During the Vancouver Folk Festival weekend, I participated in a guided Native walk through a portion of the traditional Musqueam territory at Jericho Beach Park.  Thanks to Henry Charles for sharing his knowledge, and to Celia Brauer for organizing the walk.  With some music from Saturday morning’s Bound for Glory workshop, celebrating Woody Guthrie’s 100th birthday.  You can read a recent article about the indigenous history of BC here.

About Janine Bandcroft

i produce independent media - print, audio, and sometimes video. why? because media is education, and i think we need a better education than the corporate or state sponsored media provides. if you agree that independent media is important, please consider supporting it so we can pay our rent and feed ourselves. thanks.
